26 postcards, 1941-1944

Postcards and covers relating to the Spanish Blue (or Azul) Division who fought on the Eastern Front in 1942-1944. These items attract much interest and are consequently often forged. Of the items here, one of the three postcard, showing the Spanish General Moscardo greeting ‘a valiant volunteer’ is probably genuine, and the same might be true of a similar postcard (‘Two [Spanish and German] Companions in Arms’). Two Feldpost folding letter are very doubtful, however, and especially the one supposedly written by Lieutenant Ismeal Garcia Romeo who appears on numerous forgeries. The last item is an obvious forgery: a reprinted postcard supposedly written on the Eastern Front, but not stamped or franked and badly handled.
