26 covers and postcards, 1941-44
German occupied countries, 1941-44. Covers from Belarus, Belgium, Czechoslovak, France, Latvia, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, and Ukraine. Also 15 postcards and 8 cards with First Day stamps. Most of the covers are authentic though most of the postcards are patently not, like the FDCs. Two covers include letters to Maria Roesmer of Oels/Olesnic in Silesia. The best covers are probably printed letters to the University of Riga (1943) each of which were opened and sealed by the military censor. The only creditable postcard (i.e. maybe not fabricated) has a photo of Hitler in a series of 'Men of Our Time' (Josef Huber, 1938. For good measure, the collection also includes three Cinderella covers produced by the Polish government-in-exile in 1943 and four from German occupied Poland in 1915.
